We offer a full-service contact lens examination, similar to a regular eye exam, our doctors take a thorough look at the health of your eye and the quality of your vision. Doing this routinely, once a year, allows your eye doctor to evaluate any changes to your vision before it becomes severe.
We will also need to gather several eye measurements. The most common is the curvature of your cornea, the eye’s clear front surface. Your iris size and the pupil will also be measured. It is important to make sure that your lenses are a proper fit.
Our doctors will ask you about your lifestyle and preferences to help determine what contact lens will be best. Some contact lenses are better for athletes who live an active lifestyle, and others may be better for travelers who might occasionally sleep in their contacts. If you have dry eyes, your eye doctor may also perform a tear film evaluation to make sure we prescribed you contact lenses that keep your eyes sufficiently moist.
Remember, your eye doctor is your ally in making sure your eyes get what they need to perform best and stay healthy.
